Engulfed by the love of old times
I ponder the destiny that lays before me
Entrenched in memories
I hesitate to move forward
Held back by fear
No hand to hold
I look back
I am alone
Stepping into darkness, blind
Plunging
I face my fear in solitude
Unlock Pandora's box
I jump
Falling
Will I land in trusting arms?
I proceed into vast plains of unknown
Continuing my search
Lost with direction
I continue onwards
Facing fears
Breaking walls
To find myself again

Empty Spaces
I stare at you from the inside out
Deep in your eyes
I see empty spaces
Selfish longing
Cold intentions
Reality is cruel for those who believe in it
It could have been so sweet
But too much sugar rots the soul
Revealed is the true image of self
Skin deep, shallow and meaningless
We continue on, hand in hand
Staring into your eyes
There are empty spaces
Longing for what can not be given
It stands between us
Frozen, cold, lifeless
Revival is conditional
Beating hearts in hand
Through empty spaces
We smile
Ignore the gap between
Seeking comfort
Removed
Alone as we lay together
No shoulder to lean on, cry with
Only our empty spaces to give us solace
Deep in your eyes
I see empty spaces
Selfish longing
Cold intentions
Reality is cruel for those who believe in it
It could have been so sweet
But too much sugar rots the soul
Revealed is the true image of self
Skin deep, shallow and meaningless
We continue on, hand in hand
Staring into your eyes
There are empty spaces
Longing for what can not be given
It stands between us
Frozen, cold, lifeless
Revival is conditional
Beating hearts in hand
Through empty spaces
We smile
Ignore the gap between
Seeking comfort
Removed
Alone as we lay together
No shoulder to lean on, cry with
Only our empty spaces to give us solace

Heart of Darkness
No better than a wolf in sheeps clothing
I too am capable of those actions you abhore
Society's leper
No morals to speak of
Vice
Virtue
I know none of it
We see our own truth, our own reflection
Who is this person that stares back at me in the mirror?
I don't know her
I only know I am not what you want
Not a friend
Lover
Ally
I act in my own self-interest
I expect the same from you
Who am I?
I don't belong, the black sheep
I tried once to make you love me
But I am not those things you admire
You don't see what I really am
You don't know me at all
Empty
Hollow
Nothing
Worthless
Hate
Anger
Fear
A single tear
And then one more
They never seem to end
Who is she?
Not me
I am empty
I too am capable of those actions you abhore
Society's leper
No morals to speak of
Vice
Virtue
I know none of it
We see our own truth, our own reflection
Who is this person that stares back at me in the mirror?
I don't know her
I only know I am not what you want

You don't know me at all
